Qatar Chamber discusses trade ties with Czech, Chinese teams
QATAR Chamber Vice- Chairman Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Towar held discussions with Czech Republic Vice-President Zdenek Skromach and his accompanying delegation, in Doha, on Wednesday.
Czech ambassador to Kuwait and Qatar HE Martin Vavra was also present in the meeting. The meeting discussed trade and economic relations between Qatar and Czech Republic and ways to strengthen it.
Speaking on the occasion, Towar said, “Qatar is ready to provide facilities and support for Czech businessmen to meet with their Qatari counterparts and engage in genuine partnerships and investments in Qatar.” He said, “Qatar is gearing up to work on various developmental projects in preparation for the 2022 Soccer World Cup. Budget for the current financial year the largest ever in the history of Qatar. Development of infrastructure is high on our agenda.
Czech companies have good reputation and we want them to be involved in these projects. We will guide them in finding suitable local partners to form joint ventures in Qatar.” Towar also suggested to organise meeting between businessmen of the two countries to identify and discuss investment opportunities available in both Qatar and the Czech Republic.
Zdenek Skromach said, “Qatar is growing by leaps and bounds. We see a lot of opportunities in Qatar. Our companies are eager to participate in the developmental projects in Qatar. We can assure Qatar of highest standards of work.” The two parties also discussed about cooperation in the field of agriculture and animal products and dairy.
“We are looking forward to export cheese and sugar to Qatar. We are also looking at cooperation in the field of agriculture and livestock production and meat which is characterised by high quality and strictly monitored by the authorities,” Skromach said.
The Qatar Chamber vicechairman also held discussions with Chinese Centre for Contemporary World Studies Member Cheng Lu.
Chinese Ambassador to Qatar HE Gao Yuchun was also present in the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Towar said, “Qatar is looking forward to cooperate with Chinese businessmen in all fields. China’s success is not only an example to China but to the whole world.” He praised openness pursued by China with the Arab world stressing that Qatar was eager to establish strong relationship between Chinese businessmen and their Qatari counterparts.
Towar lauded Chinese companies operating in Qatar for their quality and speed of performance.
Cheng Lu said, “China was headed towards reforms by opening to the outside world and to the Gulf countries in particular. We are preparing legislation and laws that encourage investment.
China plans over the next five years to invest nearly $ 500 billion and export nearly $ 10 trillion to the world and send 400 million Chinese tourists to all countries in the world.”
