Chairman of Majlis A'Shura Receives Vice-President of Czech's Senate
Muscat, Apr 7 (ONA)--- Khalid bin Hilal al-Ma'awali, Chairman of the Majlis A'Shura received in his Office here today Zdeněk Škromach, Vice-President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic and his accompanying delegation, within the framework of his visit to the Sultanate.
Chairman of the Majlis A'Shura stressed the importance of such visits between the parliamentary delegations as these visits enhance the bilateral relations between the Sultanate and the sisterly and friendly countries, explaining the Sultanate's approach in its international relations, which is based on the foundations laid by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said.
Al-Ma'awali gave a briefing on the march of shura in the Sultanate and touched on the good bilateral relations binding the Sultanate and the Czech Republic and means of enhancing and supporting them, particularly in the parliamentary, economic and investment areas.
On his turn, the Vice-President of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic affirmed on enhancing the relations with the Sultanate in various spheres.
The meeting was attended by Slim bin Ali al-Ka'abi and Abdullah bin Khalifa al-Mag'ali, the two Deputy Chairmen of the Majlis A'Shura, Sheikh Ali bin Nassir al-Mahrooqi, Secretary General of the Majlis A'Shura and a number of members of the Economic and Finance Committee at the Majlis.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held between the Economic and Finance Committee at the Majlis and the Agriculture and Economy Committee at the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The meeting was chaired by Sulayiem bin Ali al-Hakmani, Head of the Economic and Finance Committee at the Majlis in the presence of members of the committee and members of the Agriculture and Economy Committee at the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and means of enhancing them, in addition to the role of the Majlis A'Shura and the Parliament of the Czech Republic on enhancing these relations through the joint coordination between the two committees.
The meeting also touched on mechanism of promoting fields of the economic cooperation and the potential of benefiting from the economic, trade and investment programmes and projects in the field of energy, agriculture and transport.
The two sides stressed the importance of exchanging visits and expertise. The visiting delegation was briefed on the prerogatives of the Economic and Finance Committee at the Majlis in terms of their role in the economic and investment development plans and programmes, as well as studying the economic draft laws and the international economic agreements referred by the government.
